Mechanical Sealing Washpipe for TDS BPM VARCO
The washpipe is a drilling fluid channel for top drive, which is a special component for the dynamic and static separation of the static S-pipe and the rotating main shaft of top drive. The medium flowing through the internal passage is high-pressure drilling fluid. A conventional packing rubber seal cannot satisfy the drilling requirement because of its short service life, which will affect drilling schedules, and increase drilling costs and labor load.
Designed with a pressure self-balance floating structure, BPM Mechanical Sealing Washpipe relies on the pressure of the spring and sealing medium to generate the appropriate compression force on the end face of the rotating ring and the static ring and maintain an extremely-thin liquid film between the end faces to achieve the sealing. The product can realize manual movement alignment or automatic alignment of the floating device, overcoming the problem that the traditional washpipe cannot compensate the size deformation caused by the installation environment.
Technical Features:
Wide scope of application - the static ring has superior tracking ability to the moving ring, the tolerance requirements of which on the installation interface are greatly reduced. It is applicable to various operating environments and different models of top drives.
Easy and quick maintenance - It plays a positioning and pre-loading role on the upper and lower sealing rings through the elastic spring pre-loading nut. The sealing ring can be replaced within 10 minutes only by using a ratchet wrench, which significantly improves the work efficiency, reduces the labor intensity, and enhances the work safety.
Long working life - the sealing ring friction pair is made of high-performance composite ceramic materials that are wear-, corrosion- and high-temperature resistant. The main body material is made of high-strength stainless steel, which can withstand a high temperature up to 120℃ and high pressure up to 52.5MPa. The operating time under pressure is up to 1,000-1,500 hours.
