How should the BOP and accumulator be prepared before drilling
Functional steps of BOP and accumulator
During normal drilling in oil and gas, the entire BOP stacks and control system shall be thoroughly inspected once per week. When drilling into oil and gas formations, inspections must be carried out once per day to ensure that the entire well control system remains flexible and reliable. Each component must be kept in proper working condition so that once an instruction to control kick or blowout is received, it can immediately rESPond to the operation and effectively seal the wellhead. In other words, the entire well control system must always remain in a standby condition.
1. Three Sources Ready
Hydraulic Oil Source
(1) The oil level in the reservoir tank shall be more than half of the tank volume.
(2) The oil level in the crankcase and chain case of the electric oil pump shall reach the position specified on the dipstick.
(3) The oil mist lubricators at the driller's console and remote control panel shall be filled with oil to 1/2–2/3 of the sight glass volume.
Power Supply
(1) Main power supply and three-phase disconnect switch shall be closed.
(2) The master switch knob in the electrical control box shall be set to the "AUTO" position.
(3) The air circuit breaker inside the electrical control box shall be in the "ON" position.
Air Supply
(1) Air supply shut-off valve shall be open.
(2) Air supply pressure gauge shall read 0.6–0.8 MPa.
2. All Valves in Correct Position
Four Open
(1) Accumulator isolation valve shall be open.
(2) Inlet valve of the electric oil pump shall be open.
(3) Inlet valves of both pneumatic oil pumps shall be open.
Three Closed
(1) Discharge valve shall be closed.
(2) Air shut-off valve of the pneumatic oil pump shall be closed.
(3) Bypass valve on the air line of the pneumatic oil pump shall be closed.
3. All Gauges Showing Correct Values
Koomey unit Hydraulic Pressure Gauges
(1) Accumulator pressure gauge: 17.5–21 MPa.
(2) Manifold line pressure gauge of the directional valve: 10.5 MPa.
(3) Annular BOP hydraulic line pressure gauge: 10.5 MPa.
(4) Upper oil pressure limit of hydraulic-electric switch: 21 MPa; lower limit: 17.5 MPa.
(5) Maximum oil pressure for hydraulic-pneumatic switch: 21 MPa.
accumulator Air Pressure Gauges
(1) Air supply pressure gauge: 0.6–0.8 MPa.
(2) Primary air pressure gauge in the pneumatic regulating system: 0.14 MPa (0.35 MPa for the new type gauge).
(3) At the driller's console, the accumulator pressure gauge, manifold pressure gauge, and annular BOP pressure gauge shall show the same readings as the corresponding gauges on the remote control panel, with a pressure difference not exceeding 1 MPa.
